On the afternoon of 28th April, Anqing Foreign Language School’s Primary Department held the 2017 ‘Happy Reading Festival’ as scheduled, other known as the 3rd Session ‘Book Exchange and Sharing Campaign’, which was a significant part of Anqing Foreign Language School’s 2017 ‘Happy Reading Month’ and was also well received by students. More noticeably, Anqing TV Station’s Daily Telecast program ran a special report on this incredible event.
To begin with, on the basis of the previously established Exhibition, Exchange and Reading Areas, this year’s activities included the ‘Happy Reading& Riddle Area’ where children were supposed to edit vivid and interesting riddles in accordance with their favorite literary works to attract their peers who were into reading to participate in the guessing competition.
In the meantime, the Primary Section set up the themed reading guidance in Grades One and Two this year. Aimed at the characteristics of lower grade students, each class chose their themes respectively. On the other hand, students were at liberty to choose their classes. Moreover, Chinese teachers gave lectures on the reading contents, introduced the booklist in class as well as guided students to purposefully choose and exchange books.
In summary, this marvelous event intensively displayed the reading gains of numerous students and played a significant role in further constructing a rich reading atmosphere.
